Students are expected to complete the following three courses, which likely can be considered electives in their own graduate program. Students should consult with their academic advisor.
1. Summer clinical immersion journal club/discussion
2. BIM 289: Integrated Perspective and Inquiry for MSK Health Research. This is a hands-on laboratory course designed to provide students experience in common techniques used in MSK research including cell culture and differentiation, fabrication and evaluation of biomaterial properties, and biomechanics.
3. One of the following foundational courses, depending on the student’s research focus, which represent foundational courses that are well-subscribed by students with an interest in MSK health, tissue engineering, and biomedical imaging:
BIM 210: Design of Polymeric Biomaterials and Biological Interfaces
BIM 232: Skeletal Tissue Mechanics
BIM 273: Integrative Tissue Engineering and Technologies
BIM 242: Introduction to Biomedical Imaging
